I wonder if Chris Martin lies awake at night concerned that his band isn’t “rock” enough for people like Dave Allen. Considering who he sleeps with, I doubt very much that he does.

Incidentally, the new album sounded great in my neighborhood Starbucks this morning. It made my soy latte that much more enjoyable.

Reading that made me glad Coldplay’s not on my radar. I think I’ll keep it that way.

You put the obvious in a way that everything else stating the obvious is just blurry and unclear! You rock! Oh and just for shits and gigs my personal opinion of Rock and Roll is a meaning that seemed always so clear to me…. It was for the artists(Are-Dissed)moving at the speed of the universe that had the balls to use the help of a pizo and a rock! Which you would have to roll to get smoke! hence rock and roll! lol

Nicely put. I think the term ‘rock’ has to be revisited. The term ‘rock’ should be reserved for what it was originally meant to describe — music known as rock and roll and the sexual connotation that went with it. Chuck Berry had more charisma in his little finger than Mr Paltrow and he rocked. Jerry Lewis rocked, Led Zeppelin rocked etc., etc. Coldplay are a sexless band that are far from rock and roll.

As for Rolling Stone, all I can say is well said, Roy.
