i was trying to find some old bmx pool pic from the ranch skate park and came across your article.for the record ron wilkerson is not the first bmx vert rider or contest winner.the first comp was at the long gone ranch park back in 1981.riders that included a young eddie fiola, bob morales, jeff watson, tinker juarez and myself.the event was covered in action now mag.then in 1983 another comp was held at uplands pipeline which was covered bmx plus.i'm not trying to slam ron but i thought the record should be set straight.also i believe tinker juarez should get the credit for the first vert/park rider.i remember before him parks would not even let us in.
