I did DJ some from 1991 until 2004. I move a lot and have since been more into making mixes and sounds on the computer. I do love spinning vinyl, but I can’t haul it around like I did when I was in one spot for a long while. Maybe when I get settled somewhere again. For now the DJ motif is more of a metaphor.

I also used to listen to Quicksand quite a lot. I still break out Slip fairly often, but I usually tend toward Manic Compression when I’m in the mood. Actually, I probably listen to their offspring, Rival Schools, more often. Good stuff.

Alot of friends out here in DC are DJs. we all come from the familiar hardcore scene that sprang up in the 80′s.

I have been delighted by some of the newer music that has come from the people who were in some of those bands from the 80′s.

If you get the chance you should check out Quicksand, exspecially the Slip cd, which is their first major release. The guy, Tom Capone who plays guitar on it brings this sound that almost melts the time and space.

Listen to with a good system, you’ll get the point. Tom Capone also did some other projects which supposedly are just as good. one is Instruction, album named God Doesn’t Care. There is one other band he is in called God fires Man.

I have found that Terrance and his brother Dennis make up that strange gap between philosphy and science.

They both have opened me up to a world which is far stranger and interesting then I would have ever imagined.
