“Twisted Sisters of Merciful Fate’s Warning” - Nice. Very nice.

I'll play along and add the following for 1997: (1) "The Action is Go" by the mighty Fu Manchu was released then & turned out to be a classic, but I must admit it wasn't until the next one came out that I went back and found it. (2) I remember playing a lot of Prodigy's "Fat of the Land" in 1997, for better or worse. (4) Same goes for "Get Tough" by the Woggles (5) That split EP with Napalm Death and Coalesce. That counts, right?

As you may know, I'm off hip hop these days. So I can't admit that you're right to have Camp Lo on that list & suggest you add "Sex Style".

I miss Pillowfight sometimes too. I write a lot less record reviews since its demise. It was a good time.

"Twisted Sisters of Merciful Fate's Warning" was mine! I used to have a few more of those, but they've gone the way of so many braincells in the meantime.

Oh, and I think those are still rare interviews we had [you don't still have them, do you? ;)].

Pillowfight was certainly fun, and I miss it now and then. I remember running a contest for the best band name connector phrase. I can't remember who won, but I do remember "Twisted Sisters of Merciful Fate's Warning," which I thought was hilarious. Oh, and we had interviews with hard-to-interview people. Ian Mackaye and Steve Albini come to mind. Maybe they talk to anyone these days. I wouldn't know...

Yeah, none of the second five came out in 1997. As it says above, "The second five are the records that spent the most time in and around the player in 1997." So, technically it's only a "year end top five," and a "year-end most-listened-to five regardless of release date." If fact, I'm going to use that to further justify my additions.
