Wide-ranging journalist Yannis-Orestis Papadimitriou recently invited me to appear on The Archipelago on Stegi Radio in Athens, Greece.

Yannis introduced the episode as follows:
There are some cultural products that are based on the human experience. Some others draw inspiration from beyond the human experience. And then, there are some who are against the human itself.
The music of industrial metal band Godflesh is such an example. And when Roy Christopher began to write a book on the band’s seminal album Streetcleaner, his project gradually over time became Post-Self, a philosophical treatise on the non-human.
In this episode, Roy Christopher, cultural critic, Instructor at the University of North Florida and author of the book Post-Self: Journeys beyond the human body, talks about the music of Godflesh, the philosophy of that which is not human and the great legacy of Marshall McLuhan.
Many thanks to Yannis, the Archipelago, and Stegi.Radio for having me. Listen to the full discussion below or on the Stegi.Radio site.
